What is a Diving Baptism?

A try dive is your first dive in the sea, designed for beginners with no previous experience. You will receive a basic introduction to scuba diving, practice in shallow water and then do a guided open water dive.

A Beginner's Experience

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to breathe underwater?

If you want to try scuba diving in Tenerife without having to complete a course, then our try dive, also known as “bautizo de buceo” is what you are looking for.

The test dive is divided into 3 parts:

Part One: We will explain how the equipment works and the basic theory of diving so you can enjoy your experience in complete safety.

Part Two: We will do 3 VERY simple exercises, these are just a few exercises necessary to get used to the underwater environment and to familiarize yourself with the equipment.

Part Three: We will take a walk underwater walk in which we will observe the local marine life, where at the same time we will experiment with the control of our buoyancy.

You’ll see, starting to dive will be the best decision of your life.

Also, if you still don’t know if you want to do the Open Water Diver (OWD) course, the baptism will help you to make a decision. This course is credited as the first dive of the Open Water Diver, if you decide you want to do the Open Water you will have a discount on this one, talk to the Scubaivepro team for more information.

The whole activity is conducted by a qualified diving instructor instructor who will take care of your learning and safety.

To take this program you must be at least 10 years old.

What are the age requirements?

Do you dive all year round in Tenerife?

Yes, Tenerife offers good diving conditions all year round, so we are open every month, there is always something to see underwater!

What is the water temperature in Tenerife?

The water temperature in summer is around 24°C and in the winter months it can drop to 19°C.
There are no large temperature changes between the surface and the depths.
You are usually pretty good in a 5 mm wetsuit, although 7 mm is also fine.

What do I need to bring?

How long is 1 dive?

30 – 40 minutes.

can i climb teide or fly after diving?

Following the rules, after a normal dive you must wait 12h before boarding the plane or going to Teide.
After several dives or really deep dives, the norm is 18h.
In general terms: Don’t do it the same day after the dive, but you can go to Teide and jump directly into the water afterwards, no problem!
